The star-studded gala brought out a mix of high-fashion players and street artists.
“I’m just here to warm up the stage for a fellow Australian,” Liam Hemsworth said as he took the podium at amfAR’s Hong Kong gala last night, introducing Kylie Minogue’s dazzling performance. “She’s someone that I’ve been having dreams about ever since I was a young, young boy,” the Hunger Games star added. “She’s beautiful, she’s talented, I love her.” Attendees at the massive Shaw Studios event felt the same, swarming the stage and singing along to Minogue’s hits and her new single.
Honorees were philanthropist Cathy Lee and New York–based artist Kaws, who had a busy week with exhibitions opening simultaneously in Tokyo and Hong Kong. Swedish pop star Tove Lo also entertained the crowd that included Jeff Koons, K-pop star Jessica Jung, and Michelle Yeoh, who will appear in the upcoming Crazy Rich Asians movie, based on the Kevin Kwan novels. Did she get to wear fabulous clothing for her role as the controlling mother Eleanor Young?
