"It never stops amazing me," the Colombian-born designer says of the city she calls her second home.
The Colombian-born designer Johanna Ortiz calls Paris her second home. For three years, she’s been presenting her collections inside a lofty Rococo-style Parisian apartment in the 7th arrondissement. This Paris Fashion Week, her Fall 2018 collection was inspired by Argentinian cowboys, with her signature ruffled blouses and dresses as well as coats, for the very first time.
The show, presented in a cocktail format (complete with flowering cocktails), was also a celebration of the designer’s 15th anniversary. As she continues to create, Ortiz plans to keep her presentation in the ornate apartment on Rue de Varrene. “Falling in love with Paris is not that hard because every time I come, I discover different things and new architecture,” she says. “It never stops amazing me. Any regular building that I see on Rue de Rivoli and Rue de Varenne or even Boulevard Saint-Germain, I love.”
